Dažreiz ir tikai viena diena, lai nokļūtu sākumpunktā, sakrāmētos un būtu gatavam doties tālāk – lidot uz nākošo galamērķi. Šis bija tieši tas gadījums, tikai dienu pirms mēs apstājāmies Fort William. Tur mūs ieintriģēja iespēja uzkāpt augstākajā Apvienotās Karalistes virsotnē, kā arī negaidīti laba laika prognoze.
Tās pašas dienas vakarā, tika pieņemts lēmums, ka Ben Nevis virsotne ir jāsasniedz. Daži saka, ka ir nepieciešams speciāli gatavoties un tamlīdzīgas muļķības. Mēs jutāmies gatavi, un agrā rīta stundā devāmies ceļā. Kāpiens bija kā punkts uz “i”, un tieši tas, kas nepieciešams, lai varētu veiksmīgi noslēgt Skotijas apmeklējumu uz ļoti pozitīvas nots. :)

Sometimes you have just one day left to get back to where your travels started out, pack up and go to next destination – fly out. This was exactly our case, but the day before we stopped in Fort William, where intrigued by the possibility to hike to the highest point in UK and unbelievably good weather forecast.
In the late evening we made decision to start early and hike to the top of Ben Nevis. Some say it requires preparation and that kind of non-sense. We felt ready, and went for it early next morning. It was a great hike and we were really happy to end our Scotland visit on that note. :)
